The Golden Gate Bridge on the way to Sausalito

On August 31st Jamie and I checked out of the hotel we stayed at for nine hours in Reno and headed on to California. Our first destination in California was San Francisco. Once we got into San Fran we headed downtown on their public transportation system (the BART). We walked around the city for a bit looking for a place to eat and ended up at a fun restaurant called "The Grill". The food was great, but the waiter was a bit over-bearing and trying to be too funny:-) We were pretty exhausted from all of our traveling so we headed back to the hotel somewhat early.

The next morning we had to take the truck and trailer to Penske to have regular preventative maintenace completed. While the truck was being assessed we walked to a little diner for breakfast and then walked back to Penske. We had only a short wait until maintenance was complete and we could go play in San Fran.

We headed back to the hotel to freshen up and then jumped the BART downtown once again. Once we got downtown we checked out the public market. San Francisco has a wonderful market. Since the market was near the ferry services, Jamie and I looked into getting tickets for a ferry that would allow us to have a decent view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We got tickets for the ferry to Sausalito. On the way over we had a great view of Alcatraz but the Golden Gate Bridge appeared as though it was being swallowed by the clouds and we could only see one part of the bridge peaking out of the clouds.

When we arrived at Sausalito we grabbed a quick snack and then waited in line to take the ferry back to San Francisco. On the way back to the city the clouds began to clear and we got a much better view of the city skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge!

Upon arriving at San Francisco once again, we decided to do a little shopping. We headed to the mall and spent quite awhile there. After a somewhat successful day of shopping we found a little restuarant to eat dinner at. This little restaurant was apparently world famous for their little pancakes. Although neither Jamie or myself had the little pancakes, we did really enjoy our dinner. After a late dinner we decided it would be best just to head back to the hotel and catch up on our sleep a bit before heading all the way down to LA the next day.
